Rendering tensions and harmonies between materials, objects and arrangements best describes the nature of my sculpture. The challenge is acknowledging the textural qualities of the materials as well as balancing the organic with the man-made. Utilizing these intentions in my work, I appreciate letting the process itself guide and shape the outcome. Often, the materials themselves suggest to me that the initial idea can morph, change or evolve into another direction. Frequently those pivots are the most satisfying part of the creative process and offer a path into what I create next.
